An Introduction to FOIP
As of October 1,1999, Alberta Municipalities are responsible for complying with the Province of Alberta’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). The Privacy Officer 780-980-7177 (City Clerk) is responsible for administering the provisions of this Act for the City of Leduc.
The FOIP Act is based on two essential principles: the right to access information and the right to privacy. The City of Leduc is committed to complying with the FOIP Act and supporting its principles. The city ensures residents and employees that privacy principles are adhered to for the collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal information as it applies to City of Leduc programs, software, operations and procedures.
