Spring and Fall pick up

Spring clean up for large Items

Large Item Curbside Pick-up to take place May 8 - May 11, 2012.

Each year in May, residents may place their large items out with the regular garbage for pick-up. Spring clean-up will be advertised in the Leduc Representative and posted online.

This special garbage pick-up has been scheduled for items that are not picked up in the normal collection. Items include; refrigerators, freezers that have been "certified freon free" and doors removed.  Other appliances, water heaters, old furniture, doors, sod and branches will be collected.

Regular disposal of large items

At all other times of the year, Leduc residents are welcome to take these items to the Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Facility located 1.6 kilometers east of the City of Leduc boundary along Rollyview Road (S.H. 623) and 0.8 kilometers north on R.R. 244.  Fees: In most cases, there will not be a charge for household waste, exception being any units/appliances which have not had freon removed a $25.00 charge will apply when dropping off at the Leduc & District Regional Waste Management Facility.

Spring and Fall Yard Waste Pickup

Spring Yard Waste Curb side pick-up to take place May 1 - June 8, 2012.

The city offers additional weekly pickup of backyard waste such as grass, leaves, branches and flower bed/garden waste for six weeks in spring and six weeks in fall. The dates for this service will be advertised in the Leduc Representative and online.

Residents wishing to use this service are to place the yard waste in clear plastic bags. Branches must be tied and bundled in lengths no greater than 1.2 m (4 ft.) All yard waste materials are to be placed beside your normal household waste on the same day as your regular garbage collection day.

Clear bags of yard waste during this special pickup period will not count towards your bag limit.

Please ensure that individual bags and bundles do not exceed 27 kg. (60 lb.).

Items not accepted during the backyard waste pick-up include:

  • manure, sod, tree stumps
  • kitchen waste
  • dead animals
  • liquids
  • waste from building construction, renovations, or repair.

Please do not contaminate yard waste with other household waste as all materials collected will be used in the city's composting operation.
