Meals on Wheels
PROGRAM
- Volunteers provide home delivery of a hot, nutritious meal, Monday to Friday between 11:30 am - 1:00 pm (excluding most statutory holidays).
- Customers are required to be home during the specified delivery time. If a customer is not home, the meal will be returned but the customer will still be charged.
- Customers are required to purchase a minimum of two (2) meals per week.
- If cancelling a meal, customers must call before 10:00 am or on the last business day before a statuary holiday.
MEAL
Soup, crackers, bread and butter, salad, a hot main course and dessert.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Eligible customers can be anyone who is unable to prepare a nutritious meal for themselves due to (for example):
- Illness
- Accident
- Mobility problems
- Visual problems
- Safety concerns
- Shopping difficulties
ORDERING
Customers call Leduc Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) at (780) 980-7109 before 10:00 am for same-day delivery.
CANCELLATION
Customers must call FCSS at (780) 980-7109 before 10:00 am for same-day cancellation. In case of a statutory holiday, the customer must call on the last business day before the holiday to cancel the meal.
COST
Meals on Wheels' customers are billed monthly at a rate of $9.00 per meal (subsidies are available to those who qualify).
