History

The City of Leduc Fire Services department has a long-standing tradition of service to Leduc and area. Now located in the protective services building the department's mission is to respond to the commuity through vision and tradition.

In 1904 the department began with a fire brigade and a horse-drawn water pump. Since its inception, the brigade has continued to grow and increase the level and quality of service to the community. In January 2004, the Fire Service evolved to provide an integrated fire and emergency medial service with cross-trained Firefighter-Paramedics and EMT's.

Currently, our fire department provides service to a population base of over 23,000 residents in the city of Leduc and to rural areas west, south and east of the city (approximately 128 sq. miles).
