BACKGROUND: Leduc and Leduc County completed the public consultation phase of the proposed land annexation (roughly 1,300 acres) from the county to the city. Open houses were held in October/November 2012, along with a non-statutory public hearing. At this time there is no indication that the City of Leduc or Leduc County will be suggesting any changes to the boundaries of the proposed annexation.

The last time the city annexed lands from the county was in 1999.
