Summer Road Maintenance

Street Sweeping in Leduc

Street sweeping begins when all snow has melted and continues through the spring, summer and fall season until snow returns. Street sweeping clears salt, sand and rock crush  deposited throughout the winter. It clears this debris from the road to provide safer road surfaces and prevents the water system from becoming clogged.

Street sweeping follows the same sequence that is in the snow removal policy. For a complete list of the 2012 residential street sweeping order, please click here (PDF)

Residents can sweep their sidewalks into the gutter in order for the sweepers to pick up the material. This, along with moving vehicles while signs are up, greatly help city staff.
