2009 Communities in Bloom Award Winner
On October 9, the City of Leduc was awarded the 2009 Communites in Bloom National Award for the population category 20,001 to 55,000.Communities are judged on eight criteria: tidiness, environmental awareness, community involvement, natural and cultural heritage conservation, tree/urban forest management, landscaped areas, floral displays and turf and ground covers.
Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on the promotion of green spaces in urban settings.
