Finance Department Overview

The Finance Business Unit includes three main functions:  Financial Services, Assessment Services, and Revenue Services.

Financial Services

  • provides financial leadership and business support to promote an economically healthy Corporation. Its objectives are to provide the financial systems and strategies to enable business units to be accountable and successful. This function provides accounting, budgeting, reporting, financial system support, insurance and investment activities and services. This area also provides accounting services to the Leduc and District Waste Management Authority.

Assessment Services is responsible for the valuation of over 8,400 taxable and exempt properties within the City of Leduc.

Revenue Services
is responsible for all City billings, collections and payments to generate annual City operating requirements.  Primary financial service delivery includes all forms of Municipal Property Taxes, Water, Storm and Sanitary Sewer and a large number of General Receivables including Ambulance Services.  In order to be successful in meeting these stated objectives, Revenue Services must ensure that proper City financial policies, procedures and bylaws are developed, maintained and adhered to, and that close working relationships exist with both internal and external customers resulting in leading edge municipal services and quality customer service delivery.
