Attainable Housing Committee
Attainable housing offers a wide mix of options for people to live, work, and play in Leduc while — making long-term contributions to the community.
In 2006, the Leduc Housing Committee was officially established by city council. The committee is responsible for finding and recommending strategies for attainable housing. The group consists of members of the public, council, city staff and a representative from the Leduc Foundation.
After in-depth research and public consultation, Leduc’s Attainable Housing Committee put together an Attainable Housing Strategy which was passed by city council in 2008. The strategy outlines Leduc’s role in supporting non-profit housing agencies and also addresses other key issues such as sustainable neighbourhood design. The Attainable Housing Committee is working on implementing the strategies outlined in the Attainable Housing Strategy.
The City of Leduc is committed to working with developers, home builders, non-profit organizations and the community toward creating attainable housing solutions for the future.
