2017 Candy Cane Checkstop

Friday, December 8, 2017

Enforcement Services will be partnering with Leduc RCMP, Leduc Fire Services, Leduc Nighthawks, Leduc & District Victim Services and MADD Edmonton to host a holiday checkstop on Friday, Dec. 8 to promote safe winter driving.

WHAT: Candy Cane Checkstop
WHERE: 50 Avenue (between Alton Drive and Grant MacEwan Boulevard)
WHEN: Friday, Dec. 8 - 7 to 9 p.m.

The Candy Cane Checkstop is held each year to promote safe, responsible winter driving during the holiday season.  Participation in the checkstop is voluntary, and motorists who choose to take part will receive information and tips about holiday driving safety as well as a candy cane for each occupant in the vehicle.  Checkstop attendees will also have the opportunity to make donations to the Leduc Foundation (cash donations) and the Leduc & District Food Bank (non-perishable food items).

We encourage all Leduc motorists to drive responsibly, particularly during the winter months, by obeying posted speed limits, not driving while impaired and following other traffic safety laws.
