Buildings Four Stories or Less – Adjacent Property Fire Protection Standards
To meet the requirements of the Alberta Fire Code 2006, Sentence 220.127.116.11., protection of adjacent properties during construction must be considered. The options listed are based on the assumption that the site supervisor has an approved fire safety plan implementing fire prevention initiatives to reduce the risk of fire. A Fire Safety Codes Officer may visit the construction site to evaluate the method of protection of adjacent properties. Acceptable methods of protection are required for new buildings constructed at distances of < 40 meters (131ft) from adjacent properties.
