Huron Drive between Chippewa Road to Athapaskan Drive will undergo full depth rehabilitation using asphalt foaming, except the Huron Drive loop (#22-36 Huron Drive) which will be fully reconstructed as the loop prevents the use of the asphalt foaming equipment.

Nootka Road between Bella Coola Drive and Bella Coola Drive, including the Nootka Road loop (#97-105), will undergo a full reconstruction of the concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, and full-depth road structure.

Surface foaming to scheduled to start approximately July 6th on Huron followed by Chippewa Road. Road will be closed during operation but will be driveable once foaming is completed.
Huron Drive: Concrete curb and gutter installed in the cul-de-sac. Final concrete tie ins scheduled to be completed early next week. Road rehabilitation pulverizing is complete. Surface foaming to start approximately Tuesday July 6th. Road will be closed during operation but will be driveable once foaming is completed.

A parking ban will be effect between 50th Street and Capri Road as this work progresses to permit 2-way traffic to continue during the work.
|June 24, 2021||On-time||Chippewa Road: Concrete curb and gutter is complete. Road rehabilitation will begin next week with pulverizing of the surface in preparation for foaming. Concrete crews will return to continue with remaining resident/lane tie-ins near the end of the week.
Huron Drive: Concrete installation of curbs and gutter is complete on the main road. Reconstruction of the cul-de-sac started with removals, cement stabilization of the base and granular install complete. Concrete curb and gutter will be installed in the cul-de-sac next week. Road rehabilitation will start on the main road next week with pulverizing of the surface to prepare for foaming.
Nootka Road: Phase 1 removals are complete. Base stabilization and gravel install are also complete. Concrete crews will return next week to start the curb and gutter install. Phase 2 removals are complete and base stabilization is ongoing. Next week, gravel install will be done and concrete crews will return to install curb and gutter.

A notice for Chippewa and Huron was provided by the contractor to impacted residents. Garbage collection will occur in the rear lanes going forward as normal.
Nootka Road: Monowalk concrete installation is complete and tie-ins are ongoing. Phase 1 of Nootka Road (from the west limit at Bella Coola to the southeast bend) will be closed this week for road excavation to begin. Impacted residents were provided notice by the contractor.

These will be completed in rotation to ensure adequate access is maintained to the lane. Removals of the curb and gutter commenced this week. Granular install and concrete will commence next week.

|May 27, 2021||On-time||Chippewa Road: Due to rain, time was spent drying and re-compacting gravel. The concrete monowalk has been placed. Crews will continue with the concrete tie-ins. Crews will return to begin removals of the curb and gutters after completing the monowalk on Nootka and Huron, within the next two weeks.
Huron Drive: Due to rain, time was spent drying. Gravel base installation began. Concrete monowalk will be installed this week.

|May 20, 2021||On-time||Chippewa Road: granular base is installed, catch basin adjustments have been made, and layout for concrete is complete. Due to weather this week, concrete will be placed next week once the granular base is dry enough.
Huron Drive: removal of the monowalk is complete. Granular base install has started and will continue into next week, with concrete to follow.
Nootka Road: sawcutting of the concrete monowalk has started in preparation for monowalk removals to begin next week.
|May 14, 2021||On-time||This afternoon, crews encountered and struck a Shaw line that deviated from Shaw's marked location on Huron Drive. Shaw has been contacted and is on the way to repair the line as soon as possible. We apologize for any service interruptions that residents may experience in the meantime. As always, we appreciate your patience while the line is repaired.|
|May 13, 2021||On-time||Chippewa Road: removal of the monowalk started this week - it has been removed and graded. The granular base is currently being installed. Concrete layout and placing will begin next week.

Nootka Road: concrete monowalk removals will begin the week of May 25, 2021. Residents will receive a notice from the contractor advising of parking restrictions within the next week.

During construction in Corinthia on Chippewa Road today, a Shaw line marked by crews was more shallow than expected and was clipped. The extent to which phone or internet service in the area may be impacted is currently unknown. We have contacted Shaw, and are working with them to fix the line as soon as possible. If there are any further updates, they will be posted here. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
*The Shaw line was repaired at 9 p.m. May 11.
|Apr. 29, 2021||Scheduled||Project scheduled to begin week of May 10, on Chippewa Road and Huron Drive. Concrete sidewalk will be removed and reinstalled on both streets. Removal and reinstallation of the concrete curb and gutter will follow on the opposing sides of these streets. No street parking will be permitted during this work. A notice with details on the parking ban and what to expect will be delivered to residents directly affected by this work in the coming week.|
