West Community Garden and Parking Lot

Overview:
A new pilot community garden will be constructed in Deer Valley, including a temporary parking lot and post and rail fence, installation of a water line, and tilling of the plots. Public engagement about the new garden occurred in 2019, and received extremely positive feedback, both from residents in the neighbourhood and city-wide. The pilot garden is expected to be open to the public for the 2022 season, and will be evaluated over three years.

| June 8, 2021 | On-time | Gravel parking lot is complete. Contractor is working on topsoil spreading and seeding, weather permitting. Fence posts have been dug. |
| May 31, 2021 | On-time | Construction is ongoing. Topsoil has been removed from the parking lot and clay fill is being brought in. Holes for the fence are anticipated to be drilled this week. |
