Freeze for Safety Check Stop

Sunday, August 13, 2017

Summer is a busy time in our community with people spending much more time outdoors - including children who are out of school and playing at parks, riding bicycles, etc.  As a result, drivers need to be even more vigilant than usual regarding traffic safety.

In order to promote safe summertime driving habits amongst Leduc motorists, City of Leduc Enforcement Services is partnering with Leduc RCMP, Leduc Fire Services, Leduc Victim Services and MADD Canada to host the Freeze for Safety Check Stop on Aug. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. on 50 Ave. between Alton Dr. and Grant MacEwan Blvd.

All vehicles that attend the check stop will receive information about safe driving, school zone/playground information and a MADD ribbon.  All vehicle occupants will receive a freezie (provided by Happy Chappy Ice Cream) and will have the opportunity to make a cash donation to Leduc & District Victim Services.

All Leduc motorists are encouraged to drive responsibly by obeying posted speed limits, being mindful of playground zones and increased pedestrian traffic, not driving while impaired and following traffic safety laws.
