2021 Property Tax Bylaw passes with no municipal tax revenue increase

Monday, April 26, 2021

For the second consecutive year, the City of Leduc will not implement a municipal tax revenue increase for property owners in 2021. The 2021 Property Tax Bylaw was passed on Monday, April 26, with a zero increase.

This decision was made by Leduc City Council in recognition of ongoing financial impacts that residents may continue to be experiencing as a result of COVID-19.

On their property tax notice, approximately 96 per cent of non-residential and 86 per cent of residential ratepayers will see no change or decrease in their 2021 annual municipal property tax portion from last year. Please note: there might be some increases due to the 2021 Education Property Tax Requisition, which the city collects annually on behalf of the province.

Property tax notices will be mailed to property owners in mid-May. Property taxes are due on June 30, 2021.
