City closes all Leduc playgrounds for safety purposes

Effective immediately, the City of Leduc announces the closure of all playgrounds within city limits.

This closure affects more than two dozen outdoor play areas. Visit http://maps.leduc.ca/CommunityMap/ for a complete listing.

The measures taken today are to encourage individuals and families to practice physical distancing of 6 ft or 2 metres if out for a walk. According to Alberta Health Services, other essential measures include:

  • Staying home if you’re feeling ill
  • Avoid close contact with others who are sick or in isolation
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds
  • Avoid any travel
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your elbow
  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands
