City of Leduc’s population nearly doubles in size since 2006

Leduc Census 2018 concluded May 31 and the city is pleased to report a new population of 32,448, which is a 4.2 per cent growth over 2017 and 91.2 per cent growth since 2006 (*16,967).

“It’s an extremely positive sign for this community as it shows that we’ve more than doubled our previous year’s growth from 2 per cent in 2017 to 4.2 per cent in 2018,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Our city is seeing the benefits of a powerful combination of location, amenities and quality of life; together it makes this community one of the strongest in the metropolitan region.”

The Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board population projection increase for Leduc, from 2014 – 2019, is 2.4 per cent (low scenario) and 3.9 per cent (high scenario).
