City of Leduc offers condolences in response to tragic loss of Edmonton Police officers

Thursday, March 16, 2023

With heavy hearts, we join our counterparts in Alberta and across Canada in mourning the tragic loss of Const. Brett Ryan, 30, and Const. Travis Jordan, 35, two Edmonton police officers who were killed in the line of duty on March 16.

We share in grieving these officers as they made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting their community. Our heartfelt condolences go to the family, friends, colleagues, and all those affected by this tragedy.

“On behalf of Leduc City Council and Administration, I want to express the immense sadness we felt upon hearing this news,” says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Police officers are on the frontlines in keeping us safe, and we are deeply dismayed by these disturbing acts of violence. We send our support to the Edmonton Police Service during this dark time and to all who will be impacted by this unthinkable loss.”

Flags at City facilities have been lowered to half-mast in honour of Const. Ryan and Const. Jordan, and all with the Edmonton Police Service.
