City of Leduc partners with RCMP on Project REV’N

To directly address vehicle speed activities and the noise pollution from excessively loud vehicles on our roadways, Leduc RCMP along with Leduc Enforcement Services are launching Project REV’N (Reduce Excessive Vehicle Noise). This activity is in alignment with the City of Leduc’s strategic goal of enhancing community safety and well-being.

For the next few months, this project will target motor vehicles with modified and/or excessively loud exhaust systems on the roads and vehicles that contribute to excessive noise from excessive speed. Drivers are reminded that they will be subject to charges and penalties for offences under the provincial Traffic Safety Act.

Vehicle owners should repair modified exhaust systems; avoid altering factory-issued parts on vehicles that increase sound, and to ensure their vehicles comply with the regulations set out in the Traffic Safety Act.

Road safety is a crucial policing function, and one which all members of Leduc RCMP and Enforcement Services are committed to. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, police and Community Peace Officers continue to enforce the speed limit, address aggressive and impaired driving, in addition to a variety of other road safety measures.
