Join Arbour Day 2019 celebrations for family fun
Leduc’s Arbour Day festivities will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and involve a little work and a lot of fun for every member of the family.
The action is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Outlook Park – Leduc Industrial Park, north of 74 Avenue and 33 Street. Volunteers will be put to work planting trees while they visit with old friends and make new ones. Participants are reminded to wear old clothes, bring a shovel and a water bottle. Participants are also encouraged to bring binoculars to enjoy the view from the top of the park’s 51 ft. hill.
Refreshments will be available for volunteers, and a face painter will be on site from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for younger members of the tree planting brigade.
No registration is required for this event. Participants can simply show up at the park and sign a liability waiver, which can be completed in advance of the event. Minors are required to have parent or guardian permission. Parking and driving instructions, as well as liability waivers are available at Leduc.ca.
