June is Recreation and Parks Month
June is Recreation and Parks Month in Canada, and The City of Leduc and the Leduc Recreation Centre (LRC) encourage residents to participate by getting active and enjoying the many green spaces and recreational facilities in the community.
Established as a community mobilization movement, Recreation and Parks Month engages children and families across the country to partake in activities that increase physical activity, promote healthy living and encourage a safe environment.
To celebrate Recreation and Parks Month, the LRC is hosting a Recreation in the City Facebook contest where you can earn entries into a randomized draw for a $150 gift certificate to either the LRC or the Alexandra Outdoor Pool. This contest is open to all ages; all you need to do to is:
1. Download and print a copy of the city’s 30 Activities Guide for information on fun and affordable activities, events and happenings in Leduc this June.
2. Share your favourite activity by posting on the LRC’s Facebook page using hashtags #LeducRec and #JRPM150 to earn an entry into the draw.
You may post as many times as you like, but each post must feature a different activity. The deadline to submit entries on Facebook is July 5, with the draw completed on July 7. For more contest details and fun suggestions on how to participate in June is Recreation and Parks Month, visit www.Leduc.ca.
