Kindness Counts in Leduc - Nominations Open

Monday, February 8, 2021

Residents are invited to help tell the story of kindness across Leduc, by submitting nominations thanking those whose acts of kindness – big or small – made a difference in 2020.

Kindness Counts is a way for us to recognize and celebrate the acts of kindness by Leduc citizens who went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming to their friends and neighbours. From coffee runs and grocery drop-offs, to snow shoveling and creative milestone celebrations (and so much more!), we want to say thank you to everyone who found ways to lift spirits across our community last year.

If you know someone whose kindness counted and deserves to be recognized for their thoughtful actions in 2020, we encourage you to submit a Kindness Counts video nomination to share your story and your thanks.

Footage will be used to create a thank you video that tells the story of the kind people who make Leduc a wonderful place to live. It will be featured throughout National Volunteer Week (April 19 – 23, 2021) on our social media, website and at the virtual 2019 Citizens of Distinction Award Ceremony (details to come), which was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic.

The submission deadline is March 5, 2021. Details on the Kindness Counts initiative and the video submission process are available at www.leduc.ca/kindnesscounts.

2020 showed us that our community is caring and compassionate, especially in the face of uncertainties and challenges. We look forward to hearing and sharing the stories of those who went above and beyond to care for their families, friends, neighbours, and fellow community members.
