Leduc Fire thanks citizens as they reach significant milestone
The opinions expressed by those who have received assistance from Leduc Fire Services has lead to a major success for the local emergency response department of the City of Leduc.
“On behalf of city council, I would like to say how incredibly proud we are of all those who serve in Leduc Fire,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Their dedication and commitment to those in need, along with community feedback, helped achieve a national accreditation score of 98 per cent. We share in the pride our citizens have demonstrated for their local fire and emergency service personnel.”
Throughout 2017 and 2018, Leduc Fire Services hosted an online survey asking people to provide input on the service the provided. With roughly 50 responses, the service level was scored 4.36 out of five for satisfaction.
“We strive to achieve excellence in the quality and safety of the service we provide this city and the region, and achieving accreditation allows us to continually seek ways to exceed expectations on our service delivery,” says Fire Chief George Clancy. “As chief, I have immense pride in the men and women who go above and beyond for this community, excelling in a career that requires so much sacrifice yet their successes continue to supersede.”
Managed by Accreditation Canada, health care accreditation is an ongoing process to ensure all programs and services meet the established industry standards. It’s designed to help organizations improve their service delivery to reduce risk and increase the quality of care for their patients. Accreditation is required every four years.
In the meantime, Leduc Fire Services will continue seeking public input into their service delivery through an updated online survey, to be introduced in the coming weeks.
