Mayor Bob Young seeking to recognize young leaders in Leduc
The City of Leduc has opened nominations for its second annual #Influencers awards – an event designed to acknowledge young people in our community who demonstrate leadership in all its forms. Nominations will be accepted until June 30 for deserving young leaders in Leduc currently enrolled in grades 9 through 12.
“We are very fortunate in our community to have so many outstanding young people living the principles of leadership every day, in big and small ways,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Whether it’s at home, school, various groups or clubs in their neighbourhoods or on a sports team, Leduc is full of young leaders who deserve to be celebrated.”
Nominations for this year’s awards opened on May 1. Nominations can be submitted either online or by filling out an #Influencers postcard available at the Civic Centre, Leduc Recreation Centre or the Leduc Public Library. All nominees will be invited to a red carpet movie event hosted by Mayor Bob Young in September.
“Recognizing the exceptional young people in Leduc and the contributions they make to our community is so important,” says Young. “We are excited to roll out the red carpet for them again this year and reward our deserving young residents whose leadership is making a tremendous impact on our city.”
