National Volunteer Week 2017

Wednesday, April 19, 2017

From April 23 to 29, Volunteer Canada, the City of Leduc and Volunteer Leduc celebrate Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers during National Volunteer Week (NVW).

Volunteering comes in many forms and is diverse as Canada itself. From the neighbour who shovels your sidewalks to the resident that brings a lost cat to the animal shelter, volunteers help build stronger communities. Regardless of what volunteering looks like, those who donate their time by lending a hand create lasting positive impacts.

The City of Leduc and Volunteer Leduc will be celebrating local volunteerism during NVW at the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on April 27. This event will recognize outstanding individuals in our community and the crucial work they do in the non-profit voluntary sector.

During NVW, we ask that you take time to recognize those in your family, neighbourhood or workplace who uplift our community through selfless volunteer efforts.

Thank you Canadian volunteers for 150 glorious years of service!
