New annual deadline for citizen recognition programs

Starting this fall, the City of Leduc will introduce one annual deadline of April 30 for three citizen recognition programs: Influencers, Sports Hall of Fame and Citizens of Distinction.

“We appreciate everyone who has come forward over the years to help us celebrate and honour outstanding individuals, groups and businesses through our recognition programs,” says Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Accepting nominations year-round will make the process more convenient for people who will now be able to submit nominations at their leisure.”

Each award category has specific criteria when considering a nomination. Some apply to residents only, while others highlight the legacy aspect of someone’s influences and/or reputation on Leduc. City awards span various age groups, abilities, expertise, community involvement, lifelong achievements and community investment.
