Regular operations for Leduc Transit continue following changes to regional transit

Thursday, December 22, 2022

Leduc Transit continues with regular operations following City of Edmonton’s official notice of withdrawal from the Edmonton Metropolitan Transit Services Commission (EMTSC).

“Our transit riders can expect the same responsive and reliable services they’ve always received from Leduc Transit, even with the recent decisions made related to regional transit,” says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young. “Our busses will get you to where you need to go locally and on our regional commuter routes. We will continue to collaborate with our regional partners to seek out new opportunities for what an integrated transit system can look like in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.”

Public transportation is a vital need and seeing the 252 per cent increase in ridership since the launch of on-demand service demonstrates how critical it is in connecting our community. Leduc Transit will be introducing Arc fare payment in 2023, which will enhance how our riders can get around and connect in the region.”

City of Leduc is one of eight partners in EMTSC.
