UPDATED: tentative dates for reopening of recreation facilities
Under the health and safety guidelines of Stage 2 of the Government of Alberta’s relaunch strategy, the City of Leduc is preparing for a phased reopening of recreation facilities and amenities.
The city is taking a phased approach as there are a number of contributing factors affecting the reopening of Leduc’s many indoor and outdoor facilities, which include new health and safety protocols with enhanced cleaning and available staffing.
The following dates are tentative and may be changed with little to no notice:
- June 24 – Spray Park
- June 29 – William F. Lede Park Ball Diamonds
- July 6 – Leduc Recreation Centre (LRC) fitness centre, Wilhauk Arena and indoor track; all ball diamonds, athletic fields and parks
- July 13 – Alexandra Outdoor Pool; LRC Robinson Arena
- July 20 – LRC Fieldhouses
- July 27 – LRC Aquatic Centre
- Aug. 12 - Performance Arena (LRC)
- Oct. 3 - Alexandra Arena
The Performance Arena and Alexandra Arena will reopen later in the summer and this fall, depending on facility bookings for those amenities.
It is important to note that these dates are tentative and may change based on a number of factors, including most importantly health and safety protocols.
The City of Leduc continues to focus on the health and safety of its citizens, including employees, throughout the recovery stages. All decisions are made in consultation with Leduc City Council, along with provincial health and subject matter authorities.
