Parent Responsibly in Sport: Safe Sport Education with Allison Forsyth
Please join the City of Leduc, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and Allison Forsyth of ITP Sport & Recreation for a conversation on Safe Sport in Canada.
The focus of this presentation is to educate parents of children and youth in sport about their roles and responsibilities in fostering a culture that contributes to their child’s wellbeing and success in sport. Parents will learn about their responsibility regarding safe sport and how they can advocate for a safe environment for their children including the prevention of bullying and other forms of maltreatment when it comes to sport.
Allison Forsyth is COO, Partner ITP Sport and Recreation, Olympian, and World Championship bronze medalist skier. Allison is driving her passion for changing the system and shifting a culture motivated by her own sexual abuse victimization in the Canadian sport system. Now Allison thrives in bringing real conversation to organizations and their participants. As an athlete, advocate, and change maker, she will speak to the different forms of maltreatment, how to minimize environmental and cultural risks, and the gaps every organization must be aware of that is not covered by policies or current training. She is shifting sport culture for the better.
Date: Friday, October 13th
Time: 6pm to 7:30pm
Location: Civic Centre
Registration: In-person. Registration is required. Register on Event Brite.
Hosted by: City of Leduc, FCSS and ITP Sport
