Photo Enforcement Site Criteria

Under the Province of Alberta Automated Traffic Enforcement Guidelines, the police force of jurisdiction (Leduc RCMP) is responsible for determining the site selection and how Automated Traffic Enforcement is deployed. The deployment rationale utilized by the Leduc RCMP has the following criteria:

  1. High collision locations
  2. Vulnerable road users (Playgrounds/School Zones)
  3. Public complaints

Locations along with times of deployment are determined by data in a strategic manner. This approach is consistent with the recommendations of the University of Alberta’s Urban Traffic Studies Department.

Deployment locations will be regularly shared online and through the city’s social media accounts. The City of Leduc received approval for a number of sites around the city which is outlined on this MAP.
