Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Seasonal Outdoor Patio Program?
The Seasonal Outdoor Patio Policy regulates the use of public lands and provides general criteria for seasonal outdoor patio seating areas within the City of Leduc.

What public land is a business allowed to use?
Seasonal outdoor patios allow local businesses to extend their seating area into City owned property, including public sidewalks, road right-of-way, boulevards, street parking spaces, parks, and parking lots owner or leased by the City.

What qualifies as a seasonal outdoor patio?
A seasonal outdoor patio is intended to allow local businesses to provide outdoor seating to patrons on public land situated beside their building.

Who can apply for a seasonal outdoor patio program?
Any business in the City of Leduc can apply to participate in the seasonal outdoor patio program.

I was approved for a seasonal outdoor patio this year, will I need to reapply to participate next year?
Yes. Businesses interested in operating an outdoor seasonal patio will need to reapply to the city for a new license each calendar year. There is no fee for application, but this allows the city to review for any changes and help make sure there are no conflicts with road construction/maintenance.
