City announces naming sponsor for new Pickleball facility

Thursday, February 15, 2024

The City's new 12-court Pickleball amenity will open in Spring 2024 as the Leading Edge Physiotherapy Pickleball Facility. The $60,000 naming sponsorship took effect on November 1, 2023, and will span a five-year term. The sponsorship will support the management and operations of the facility.

"This facility is a great investment into the health of our community, so it feels only natural to partner with a local business that shares the same values about the health of our residents," says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young.

Leading Edge Physiotherapy opened its Leduc location on January 8, 2024. Starting as a single clinic in St. Albert in 2008, they have expanded across the region with locations in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Calgary and now Leduc.

"It's our privilege to be a part of the city of Leduc. Like the people of Leduc, we're willing to roll up our sleeves to be an active and productive part of the city," says Leading Edge Physiotherapy owner Grant Fedoruk. "We've grown our business with a keen focus on the health and wellbeing of the communities that entrust us with their care. Like our clinic, these courts are a place to be active, healthy, social and laugh. It's that simple."

The Picklball courts were built in 2023 and are in Lede Park at the corner of 48 Avenue and Lede Drive. An exact opening date for the facility will be announced in the coming months.
