Nominate now for the Leduc Sports Hall of Fame
The City is calling on residents to nominate a local athlete, team or sport builder/leader, whose long-term involvement in a competitive level of sport has brought fame to Leduc, for the Leduc Sports Hall of Fame.
"We are proud of the great contributions that local athletes, teams, coaches, parents and volunteers have made to our sport and recreation community and believe it's important to recognize and celebrate their achievements," says City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young.
Nominations are reviewed by the Leduc Sports Hall of Fame Committee, which is made up of a cross-section of representatives from Leduc's sporting community. Selected nominees will be inducted into the hall of fame at the annual Leduc Sports Hall of Fame Gala in the fall.
Nominations may be submitted at any time during the year; however, the nomination deadline for recognition in 2024 is April 30.
In 2023, four individuals were inducted and celebrated for their achievements. Since the hall of fame was created in 2015 (first gala held in 2016), 28 individuals/groups have been inducted.
