We are excited to have some incredible offers for our Youth in the City of Leduc and Leduc County this summer to get them active and involved.



The Alexandra Outdoor Pool is Leduc’s outdoor oasis on a hot summer day. The summer hot spot provides public swims, lane swim, aquatic fitness classes, Red Cross swimming lessons, pool rentals and special events. The Spray Park is next door to the Alex Pool and is free to use.


The pool is is located just off 50th Street, in beautiful Alexandra Park.

Did you know the Alexandra Outdoor Pool is available for rent? You can also receive group discounts during public swim hours.

Patrons are encouraged to park in lots located at the Alex Arena and St. Paul's Anglican Church. The parking lot directly south of the outdoor pool has been converted to a turnaround for traffic with accessible parking stalls. Please see the map below for a list of additional parking spots.

Alex Pool maintains a temperature of 28 - 30C, cool for aquatic fitness program participants and comfortable for lessons and public swimming. Please note that temperature fluctuations are more common at outdoor pools due to weather conditions.

This pool can be accessed via a set of stairs.

Each of the three change rooms (universal, women's, men's) features changing stalls, lockable lockers, showers and toilet facilities. The Universal Change Room is fully accessible and can be used by individuals of all genders, ages and abilities - it is also well-suited for families.

Swimming Lessons and Program Information

Aquatic programs are available at the Alex Pool from June to August. See pages 36 - 39 in the Summer City Guide for more information.

Supervision Requirements

Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied IN and OUT of the water by an adult or responsible youth (14 years or older) at all times. Supervisors will be given a matching wristband.

0 - 7 years of age must always be accompanied (1 supervisor to 4 children)
8 years of age+ does not need to be accompanied

Personal Belongings

Don't leave any valuables in the change rooms; please secure all items in a locking locker. Locks can be rented or purchased for a nominal charge at Guest Services. Coin lockers aren't available. 

Baby Boat Rentals and Tuck Shop

Baby boats are available for rent at Guest Services for $2. Please ask a Guest Services Representative for more information before you swim. Guest Services Desk also provides a tuck shop that carries all your swimming needs, such as goggles, nose clips, swim caps, bathing suits, swim diapers, towels and sunscreen.

Deep End Requirements

All patrons under 16 years of age will be required to swim two lengths of an acceptable swim for the lifeguards. Once the lengths have been completed, to the facility standard, the patron will receive their deep end mark and be able to enter the deep end. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied in the deep end by their supervisor (14 years or older). Children can swim for their mark in a PFD and the PFD must be worn at all times in the deep end.

Pool Fouling

Unfortunately, on occasion, pools have to be closed unexpectedly due to pool fouling. Health regulations require that our pools be closed anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours for the necessary disinfecting.

Diaper Requirements

Disposable and cloth diapers are NOT allowed in the pools. Swim diapers are required for all children/patrons who are not toilet trained and are available at Guest Services for a nominal charge.

Pool Attire

Appropriate swimming apparel is required while in the pool.

Pool Deck Requirements for Shoes

For health and safety reasons, outdoor footwear and strollers are not permitted on deck or in the change rooms. Shoe racks are provided at the change room entrance and at the viewing area entrance on deck. Please remove all footwear upon entering the changeroom. Footwear can be stored in your locker or carried out to the grass area.

Food on Deck

For health and safety reasons the pool deck is a Food Free Zone. Drinks in non-breakable containers are acceptable on deck. Only water can be consumed in any of the pools. Food may be consumed on the grass areas and picnic tables.

Aquatic Fitness - Minimum Age

For health and safety reasons, drop-in and registered aquatic fitness program participants must be at least 14 years of age unless otherwise noted.
