The City of Leduc is dedicated to keeping its streets, parks, and public areas safe, clean, and inviting for everyone.

Through regular street sweeping, grass cutting, snow removal, road maintenance, and park and pond upkeep, the City provides essential services that enhance Leduc’s appearance and driveability. Each service follows specific seasonal and operational schedules, ensuring a well-maintained environment year-round.

Street sweeping occurs each spring and fall to remove seasonal debris from roads. Throughout the summer months, the City also conducts maintenance sweeping. It’s important that residents move vehicles from the road during this time to allow for efficient cleaning. This keeps streets clean and prevents debris from clogging storm drains.

Snow removal in Leduc follows a priority system based on the type of road and public safety concerns. Main roads, emergency routes, and heavily trafficked areas are cleared first, followed by collector roads, and lastly, residential streets. The City sends out City vehicles to remove snow, apply sand or salt to slippery areas, and ensure clear access to public facilities and pathways. When heavy snowfall occurs, temporary parking bans are put in place to allow for quicker and cleaner snow removal.

Year-round road maintenance involves pothole repairs, crack filling, and resurfacing to ensure safe driving conditions. Crews are dispatched to repair damage caused by weather or wear and tear. The City also performs preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of roadways and reduce long-term costs. In spring and summer, asphalt patching is a key activity, while winter months focus on ice and snow management.

The City of Leduc maintains its parks and ponds through routine mowing, weed control, and litter removal to create welcoming and well-kept public spaces. Pond maintenance ensures healthy water quality by controlling algae growth and removing debris that may affect local ecosystems. These activities enhance the beauty of natural areas, ensuring parks remain safe and pleasant for recreational use.
