The City of Leduc is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where all residents have access to safe, affordable housing options and essential support services.

Recognizing the impact of housing instability and poverty, the City has established a range of resources focused on preventing homelessness, and assisting residents in finding stable, affordable housing.

Through Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), Leduc provides access to various housing and social services. A recent partnership with TLA Developments will allow for new opportunities to enhance the community by developing 57 affordable housing units within Wakohtowin Heights.

Leduc’s Homelessness and Poverty Prevention Framework focuses on short-, medium-, and long-term goals to address homelessness. This includes immediate actions such as providing a mobile community navigator to connect residents with essential services, advocating for affordable rental supplements, and working toward establishing a Community Resource Centre. The framework emphasizes community-based support, partnerships with local agencies, and regional collaboration to enhance service availability and accessibility.

Leduc works with regional housing foundations and other municipalities to secure funding and resources for sustainable housing solutions. By advocating for increased rental assistance and expanding affordable transit options, Leduc aims to lower the barriers to stable housing and improve residents’ quality of life.
