Boards & Committees

If you’re interested in sharing your input as a citizen into the strategic direction of this community, the time is now to consider joining a city board or committee. Annual recruitment efforts are underway to fill 27 positions on 6 city boards and committees.

The efforts of council and administration are actively supported by volunteers who serve on several advisory boards and committees, some of which have been established through bylaws which have been adopted by Leduc City Council. Members of city council are appointed to city boards and committees each year as part of their fall organizational meeting. Council appointments for 2021-2022 can be viewed here.


Eligibility to serve on a council-appointed board or committee:

  • You must reside in the city, or be an owner/tenant of land for the duration of your term (except for 1 Leduc County resident to be appointed to the Leduc Parks, Recreation and Culture Board)
  • You are not employed by the City of Leduc

Selection process:

  • All appointments are made by Leduc City Council
  • Copies of all applications are made available to the Board Selection Committee who put forward appointment recommendations to council
  • Recommended appointments are presented to council for consideration at the last council meeting in December
  • Once appointments are finalized, the Deputy City Clerk will notify all applicants of council’s decision
