We’re hiring election workers to help conduct the upcoming municipal election in Leduc. These temporary, paid positions are a great way to support the community, gain valuable experience, and ensure the voting process runs smoothly for everyone.

There are two ways to apply:

Online anytime through the digital application form

In-person at the Leduc Civic Centre on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 1 to 8 p.m.

  • Workers must be at least 16 years old. Youth (ages 16 and 17) must have parent or guardian approval.
  • Previous election experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate tactfully and courteously with the public.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically able to lift supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Must attend a mandatory training session (details below).
  • Must have a social insurance number (SIN) and if hired, be able to present a Canada Revenue document containing your SIN to payroll.

Hours of Work and Remuneration

Hours of work and remuneration depend on the position and whether you work during advance voting or on election day. Note: Individuals who work advance voting must also be available to work on election day. Individuals who work election day do not have to work advance voting.

  • Oct. 6, 7, 9 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Oct. 8 from 1 to 8 p.m.
  • Oct. 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mandatory Training

To work in the 2025 municipal election, you will be required to attend one mandatory in-person training session in early October at the Leduc Civic Centre and will be compensated $75 total for training time.

Important to Keep in Mind

  • Voting station staff are not permitted to leave the voting station, except for washroom breaks.
  • There will be no smoke / vape breaks.
  • Use of cell phones may be permitted at the discretion of the Voting Station PDRO and / or Counting Centre PDRO and must be discrete and not interfere with voting station activities.
  • Food and beverages are not provided; bring enough food and beverages for yourself for the entire workday.
