Athletic Achievement Award

Known for his exemplary leadership and dedication, Tyler Pahl is the recipient of the 2024 Athletic Achievement Award. His tireless efforts on behalf of sports in the community have had a significant positive impact.

Tyler grew up on a farm near Leduc and played football for the Leduc Cats and Leduc Composite High School Tigers. He also competed in high school and junior rugby. While earning his mechanical engineering degree at the University of Alberta, he played junior football with the Edmonton Wildcats. Since 2001, Tyler has lived in Leduc with his wife and three children.

Tyler has coached both football and soccer, and is currently serving his third year on the board of the Leduc Cats Football Association. He served as vice president and president with the Leduc Soccer Association, taking on a pivotal role in advancing the association and leading efforts to grow both competitive and recreational programs. He also helped launch an indoor recreational youth futsal league.

He believes sports help youth build confidence, character and community. His vision is to expand both indoor and outdoor facilities for soccer and football in Leduc to support the continued growth of local programs.

Outside of volunteering, Tyler runs a software development and IT business serving clients across Canada and the U.S., and plays saxophone in a local big band.
