Community Volunteer Income Tax Program

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Volunteer Income Tax Program will only be available via telephone. Please call FCSS at 780-980-7109 to access the program and/or inquire whether or not you qualify. Program opens on March 1, 2022.

Canada Revenue trains volunteers recruited by Family & Community Support Services to prepare simple tax returns. This program was created to help low income individuals and seniors complete their income tax return at no cost. For assistance with your tax return, or to find out if you are eligible for the program, call 780-980-7109.

Eligibility criteria
*Valid for City of Leduc Residents 

Taxpayer status Family Income
Single Person Up to $35,000
Two people (e.g. Couple without children, Single adult with one child) Up to $45,000
Three people Up to $47,500
Four people Up to $50,000
Five people Up to $52,500
More than five people $55,000 plus $2,500 for each additional person

Some guidelines do apply: volunteers CANNOT prepare income tax returns with:

  • Capital gains
  • Interest income over $1,000
  • Farming income
  • Rental income
  • Self-employed income
  • Fishing income
  • Bankruptcies
  • Deceased persons
  • Returns over five years old
