The City of Leduc is under Measure A of its water demand measures, temporarily banning non-essential potable water use for municipal operations. Warm weather and dry conditions are causing increased demand on the system; the City is expected to remain under Measure A until it rains. There is no immediate impact to residents or how they use water.

The City of Leduc is reducing its non-essential water use by restricting:

  • Hydrant flushing
  • Sewer flushing
  • Street cleaning
  • Firefighting training
  • Fleet vehicle washing – includes transit buses

Residents are always encouraged to conserve water by:

  • Limiting use of the dishwasher and washing machine until necessary
  • Reducing shower times and keeping baths shallow
  • Limiting humidifiers and ice machines usage
  • Turning off water taps when not in use

Note: The spray park in Leduc uses recirculated water and will continue to operate.
