Leduc residents continue to express strong satisfaction with their quality of life and the services provided by the City, according to the results of the 2026 Budget Planning & Satisfaction Survey. The findings highlight residents’ willingness to cut services to maintain taxes—and that the City’s current approach is working well, with high ratings for key services and overall satisfaction levels that exceed provincial averages.

Key takeaways from the survey:

  • Residents expressed a range of opinions when asked how the City should approach budgeting for 2026, with the most common preference being maintaining taxes and cutting services.
  • 93% of residents rate their overall quality of life in Leduc as good, very good, or excellent—well above the Alberta municipal average of 82%.
  • 67% of residents are satisfied or very satisfied with City services, with 79% reporting that service quality has remained consistent.
  • 64% feel they receive good to excellent value for their property taxes, surpassing the provincial average of 45%.

Respondents also emphasized their support for maintaining or enhancing key areas such as snow removal, road maintenance and enforcement.

“The survey results confirm that we’re investing in the right areas to deliver the services our community values most,” says Bob Young, Mayor of the City of Leduc. “The people of Leduc care deeply about their city, and we’re grateful to everyone who took the time to share their voice. Your feedback will be considered as we plan the 2026 municipal budget.”

This year’s survey combined the annual budget planning survey and the biennial citizen satisfaction survey into one streamlined, cost-effective online format. Conducted in March 2025 by an independent third party, the new format made it easier for residents to provide feedback on a range of topics while ensuring the results are statistically representative of the community.
