Slo-Pitch Tournament Generates $1.1 Million in Economic Activity for Leduc

The success of the Canadian Slo-Pitch Championships this summer is yet another example of our city’s reputation as a sports tourism destination. With visitors from across the country, events like these are a strong economic driver for our region, creating jobs and supporting our local businesses. We should all be proud of the overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants about our city.

The City of Leduc has a strong track record in sport hosting. This is the thirty third time we’ve worked with Leduc and we are pleased to provide relevant, accurate data that demonstrates the importance of sport tourism in their community and the province of Alberta. Congratulations to Softball Canada and the local organizing team for staging this event so successfully and demonstrating the tremendous impact that national competitions have on the Canadian economy.
