The City of Leduc is committed to keeping our community safe and welcoming for everyone who lives, works and does business here.

Most properties in Leduc are safe. At the same time, some property owners and managers told us they would like additional tools to help address trespassing and encampment concerns when they arise.

The Agent Status Program is one of the ways the City is responding.

This free, voluntary program allows RCMP and Community Peace Officers to take enforcement action on your behalf when trespassing occurs on your property—even if you can’t be reached in the moment.

Trespassing Support

With an Agent Status agreement in place, officers may:

  • Enter your property when trespassing occurs
  • Direct trespassers to leave
  • Issue bans or take enforcement action when appropriate

This authorization helps reduce response delays and allows officers to act efficiently when concerns arise.

IMPORTANT: this program does not include scheduled or routine patrols and does not replace private security or property management responsibilities. Trespassing incidents must still be reported so officers can attend and document.

Encampment Clean-Up Service

Some property owners have raised concerns about debris left behind after trespassers leave.

As part of the Agent Status agreement, participants also authorize the City to enter the property after enforcement action to clean up encampment-related debris.

This may include removal and disposal of:

  • Debris and refuse
  • Abandoned structures
  • Personal items deemed to be abandoned
  • Materials posing a health, safety or environmental concern

Cost recovery:

  • Clean-up may be completed up to a maximum cost of $1,000
  • Property owners or managers will be invoiced
  • Payment is required within 30 days of receiving the invoice
