Leduc is a city that continues to grow, change, and evolve. With that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. One of the most important roles of City Council is to plan ahead, ensuring we’re making thoughtful decisions that support our community now and well into the future.

We take this responsibility seriously. That’s why the City of Leduc’s new 2027-2030 Strategic Plan is positioned to help us navigate growth, invest wisely, and continue to deliver the services residents rely on.

Long-term planning has never been more important. In 2025, Leduc grew three times faster than expected. While this growth brings new energy, new residents, and new opportunities, it also places increased demand on infrastructure, services and City resources. The Strategic Plan helps ensure we manage that growth responsibly, while continuing to support the quality of life that residents expect and deserve.

The 2027-2030 Strategic Plan maintains our shared vision of a great life, a caring community and a thriving region, while strengthening how we deliver that vision through a focused mission of building a connected community for all people.

The plan is built on four key priority areas:

  • We are a safe and supportive community.
  • We believe in responsible growth that strengthens our community.
  • We continue to strengthen our foundations.
  • We partner for community and regional success.

These priorities reflect what Council heard from residents through ongoing engagement, community feedback and conversations during the 2025 election. Together, they speak to the importance of balancing growth with livability, sustainability, and strong partnerships.

Residents will begin to see this new plan reflected in upcoming budgets, City projects, and service decisions as we look ahead to 2027 and beyond. Progress will be monitored and shared through annual reports to ensure transparency and accountability along the way.

Planning for the future is about making sure Leduc remains a place where people want to live, work, raise families, do business, and build connections. With a clear Strategic Plan in place, I believe we are well-positioned to move forward with purpose and confidence.
