The Leduc Environmental Advisory Board (LEAB) presented its annual update to City Council on May 25, highlighting environmental initiatives, community activities and priorities for the year ahead.
LEAB advises Council on environmental matters and works to promote the protection, enhancement and responsible use of the environment in the community. The board also supports public awareness and education related to environmental stewardship.
Over the past year, LEAB hosted, attended and supported a variety of community initiatives and events, including Spring and Christmas Bird Counts, Arbour Day, the Pollinator Garden Challenge, VolunteerFest and Citizens of Distinction. The board also supported the purchase of community cleanup kits available through the Leduc Public Library.
