As the municipal election approaches, it’s important to make sure you’re ready to vote. Whether you’re planning to cast your ballot during advance voting or on election day, here are the key things you need to know.
Who can vote
To vote in the municipal election, you must be at least 18 years old; a Canadian citizen; and a resident of the City of Leduc on the day that you vote.
Know the candidates and what elected officials do
Learn about each candidate and understand the roles and responsibilities of elected officials in municipal government.
Vote in advance
Voters are encouraged to vote in advance at the Leduc Civic Centre and Leduc Recreation Centre.
- Leduc Civic Centre
Oct. 6, 7, 9 and 10, from 12 to 7 p.m.
Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Leduc Recreation Centre
Oct. 8 from 2 to 7 p.m.
Vote on election day
Election day is Oct. 20. All voting stations are wheelchair accessible and will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters are encouraged to vote at a voting station close to their home but will be accepted at any voting station in the city.
Be ready to vote
You will need to provide identification that proves your identity and current residence. A letter or form confirming you live at a stated address, signed prior to the vote by an authorized representative, will also be accepted.
