John Bole co-founded the Leduc Track Club, served as president with Athletics Alberta, and helped organize the 2001 World Track and Field Championships. He also chaired the 2008 Alberta Winter Games, which took place in Leduc.

The park is located at 50 Corinthia Drive, behind Leduc Composite High School.
