Aug. 6: Starting the week of Aug. 10, Black Gold Drive between 48A Street and 48 Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Lanes will alternate as crews make their way through the area until the end of September. During certain points there will be no access from Black Gold Drive to 48 Street or 48A Street. Please follow the posted signage in the area or take an alternate route.
This project involves the installation of pressure reducing valves (PRV) along Black Gold Drive at six different locations to improve water distribution in the city.
A pressure reducing valve is an underground device installed in the water system to help regulate and control water pressure as it moves through different parts of the community. PRVs ensure that neighbourhoods receive safe, consistent water pressure—protecting homes, businesses, and the City’s water network.
What residents can expect during construction:
- Temporary full or partial lane closures
- Sidewalks or driveways may have limited access at certain stages
- Brief water service interruptions when the system is connected
- Noise, dust, and construction equipment will be present during daytime hours.
- Excavated areas will be fenced for public safety
Timeline: Spring – Fall 2026
