The City of Leduc is gearing up for another busy construction season with work planned on vital infrastructure that will benefit the community for years to come. This year’s projects are set to improve roadways, upgrade utilities, and enhance public services for residents.

“Investing in our city’s infrastructure is essential to ensuring an efficient transportation network, a reliable utility system, and the continuation of great amenities,” says City of Leduc Mayor, Bob Young. “We understand that construction can be an inconvenience, but these projects are crucial to enhancing our community’s growth, safety, and overall quality of life.”

Key Projects for 2025

  • The 65 Avenue and QEII Interchange project is anticipated to be done by end of summer. Most of the work will be focused on the west side of the city and on the new bridge. Once complete, the interchange will make it easier for people and goods to move around the region.
  • Construction will begin on Fire Hall 3 on the east side of the city; the location will improve timely critical services to the business park and surrounding residential.
  • The Telford Cemetery will be completed. The current cemetery is reaching capacity.
  • Neighbourhood renewal work continues in Willow Park with road and sidewalk reconstruction and utility and stormwater upgrades.
  • Back lane reconstruction will provide continued stability to an area of Linsford Park.
  • The multiway will be enhanced with a new trail built along 47 Street that will connect the 65 Avenue Interchange and downtown Leduc.
  • Road resurfacing work for Corinthia Drive, Coady Boulevard and 50 Street will be completed to prolong the road’s lifespan.

The City is committed to minimizing disruptions and ensuring access is available to homes and businesses during construction. Regular updates, including road closures, detours, and project timelines, will be shared via the City’s website (leduc.ca/construction).

Residents are encouraged to stay informed and follow the signage in construction zones to navigate through the area.
